Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field

· Master’s degree preferred

· 6+ years experience developing software in a commercial software development environment

· Solid experience with Java and related technologies – mandatory

· Object oriented design experience using UML – mandatory

· Experience with modern software development methodologies – mandatory

· Good organizational and communications skills – mandatory

· Experience developing software for a highly available, web-based product – highly desirable

· Project planning experience and familiarity with project planning tools – highly desirable

· Experience mentoring and leading other developers – beneficial

· Experience developing GUI applications in Swing – beneficial

· Experience developing web-based clients and systems – beneficial

· Experience in the healthcare domain – beneficial

Job Description

.Analyzing product and technology requirements, working closely with product managers and team members

· Performing object oriented design and analysis on software components and systems

· Developing functional specifications for new development

· Defining high-level and low-level system architectures

· Researching and recommending technologies to be used in product development

· Developing high-level and low-level designs

· Implementing functionality in Java, Swing, Hybernate, and SQL DBs

· Testing and debugging code

· Developing deployment scenarios for software and hardware components

· Deploying and testing products in a highly available configuration

· Communicating with management, team leads and team personnel on project status and risks

· Leading and mentoring a small team of developers to design and implement products and features

· Project planning (task identification, estimation, dependences, risk analysis)
